About us
Making academic books affordable for every Indian student.
OldTextBooks.com is an India-focused marketplace for used academic textbooks, from school books and university subjects to professional courses and competitive examinations.
Our mission
Academic books are often useful to one student after another, but finding the required title, author and edition locally can be difficult. At the same time, usable books remain on shelves after a course or exam ends.
We give sellers a structured way to photograph and describe a copy, and give buyers search tools for title, author, subject, course, board, university and city. When a title is unavailable, a buyer can post a request that sellers may answer with a real listing.
How we're different
- Focused catalogue. Listings are for genuine second-hand academic books, not a general marketplace.
- Useful book data. Sellers can provide ISBN, author, edition, publisher, course, board and university details.
- Human moderation. Listings require approval before they become publicly available.
- UPI and wallet workflow. Buyers submit UPI payment details for review; completed seller earnings and approved refunds use the site wallet.
What we stand for
Listing review
A listing stays pending until our team reviews its title, photos, condition and entered details.
Clear order pricing
The checkout shows the book price and delivery charge before a buyer submits payment.
Academic books only
The catalogue is focused on school, college, professional-course and competitive-exam books.
Real-copy details
Each listing belongs to one seller and should show the actual copy, edition and visible condition.
