Nursing books cost close to medical prices
GNM and B.Sc Nursing prescribe a heavy, expensive list — anatomy and physiology in the first year, then medical-surgical nursing, pharmacology, midwifery, community health and nursing management across the following years. Several of those titles individually cost more than an entire school set.
They are also year-scoped: first-year fundamentals are set aside once you move on. Seniors listing their year-wise sets after exams is the single most common source of listings in this category.
- Year one: anatomy, physiology, fundamentals of nursing, nutrition, psychology.
- Year two: medical-surgical nursing, pharmacology, pathology, microbiology.
- Year three and four: midwifery and obstetrics, community health, child health, nursing management.
- Throughout: procedure manuals and drug references.
