Kolkata's listings run on West Bengal board material for Madhyamik and Higher Secondary, Bengali-medium school sets, and semester references from Presidency, Jadavpur, Calcutta University and IIEST Shibpur.
Bengali-medium sets in particular are hard to source outside the state, which makes the city's listings valuable to families who cannot find them in general second-hand shops.
College Street is one of the oldest and largest second-hand book markets in the world, and it works — if you can visit, bargain and inspect. What it cannot do is show you a graded condition, a checkable price, or a record of the transaction.
Listing here gives you a suggested price at about 25% of MRP, a review step before the listing publishes, and payment into a wallet that withdraws to UPI from ₹100.
West Bengal board books are revised periodically. Compare the contents page in the listing photographs with the chapter list from your school before ordering, particularly for Classes 9 to 12 where board exams are involved.
Delivery is charged at ₹100 per five books, so a complete class set in one order is the cheapest way to buy.
Students from Jadavpur University, Presidency University, Calcutta University, IIEST Shibpur and nearby schools search for sets every session.
Around 25% of MRP for a good copy. Prices are suggested for you when you list — no haggling with local dealers.
Sale proceeds go to your wallet and withdraw to any UPI ID in multiples of ₹100.
