B.Sc & science degrees

Second hand B.Sc books online

B.Sc references are classics that barely change: the same standard mechanics, organic chemistry, algebra and cell-biology texts have been prescribed for years. That makes a previous edition perfectly usable, and dramatically cheaper than a new copy.

Science references barely change between editions

The standard B.Sc reading list is built from books that have been prescribed for a decade or more — the same mechanics, thermodynamics, organic chemistry, algebra, analysis, cell-biology and taxonomy texts. Publishers reprint them, but the physics and the mathematics do not move.

That stability is the whole argument for buying used in a science degree. A previous edition of a classic reference is the same book with different problem numbering, at a quarter of the price.

  • Physics: mechanics, waves and optics, electricity and magnetism, thermal physics, modern physics.
  • Chemistry: physical, organic and inorganic references plus problem books.
  • Mathematics: calculus, algebra, real analysis, differential equations.
  • Life sciences: botany, zoology, genetics, microbiology, plus printed lab manuals.

Where the edition does matter

Two cases. If your assignments cite exercise numbers from a specific edition, buy that edition or be ready to map the problems yourself. And in fast-moving areas — computer science papers, biotechnology techniques — a decade-old text can genuinely lag.

For everything else, the listing's stated edition is a detail rather than a decision. Every listing records the edition, publisher and course so the check is quick.

Practicals, manuals and what is not resold

Printed lab manuals are listed and are graded like any other book — check the photos to confirm the experiment sections are intact. Handwritten practical records and assignment files are not resold on the platform.

For subjects with heavy diagram work, particularly botany and zoology, open the photographs and look at the plate pages before you order.

Selling your semester or year set

List right after your exams, with the subject and year in the title. Science sets sell steadily rather than seasonally, because the same references are prescribed at many universities at once.

Delivery for the buyer is ₹100 per five books, so bundling makes your listing more attractive. Proceeds withdraw to UPI in multiples of ₹100.

How buying used works here

Every listing checked, condition graded

Every listing is reviewed before it goes live and carries a Like new, Good or Fair condition tag with real photos.

Student-set prices

Sellers are guided to price at about 25% of MRP, so most books cost a fraction of a new copy.

Cheap bundled delivery

Delivery is charged in slabs of ₹100 per 5 books, so ordering a full set stays affordable.

Questions students ask

Are older editions fine for B.Sc?

For core science subjects, yes — adjacent editions differ mostly in problem numbering. Check the edition on the listing if your assignments cite exercise numbers.

Are lab manuals and practical records listed?

Printed lab manuals are, and they are graded like any other book. Handwritten practical records are not resold on the platform.
