These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of OldTextBooks.com and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old and legally capable of entering into contracts in India to use the Service. Users under 18 must use the Service with parental consent.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and update it as needed.
3. Listings
- Only genuine, second-hand academic textbooks may be listed.
- Photos must be your own and must accurately show the book's condition.
- The seller enters a listing price. The buyer-facing book price includes the OldTextBooks margin shown before checkout.
- We may reject or remove listings that violate these Terms or applicable law.
4. Prohibited content
Do not list pirated books, photocopies, solved answer keys sold illegally, or any content that infringes copyright or applicable law. Do not upload offensive, misleading or defamatory content.
5. Orders and payments
Buyers currently pay by UPI and submit the order reference, UTR and payment proof for manual review. An order is not treated as paid until our team verifies that submission. OldTextBooks facilitates the transaction between buyer and seller. Seller earnings are credited to the site wallet after delivery is confirmed.
6. Fees
The buyer's total consists of the seller's listing price, the OldTextBooks margin and the delivery charge. The complete buyer-facing amount is shown before payment. The current delivery charge is explained in the Shipping Policy.
7. Refunds and returns
See our Refund Policy for the current request, review and wallet-credit process. A refund is not automatic: the buyer submits the issue from My Orders and our team reviews the order, listing and supporting information.
8. Shipping
See our Shipping Policy. Delivery timelines are estimates and may vary by location and courier.
9. User conduct
Do not misuse the Service, attempt to breach security, scrape data, or harass other users. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
10. Intellectual property
All OldTextBooks branding, code and design are owned by us. You retain rights to the photos and text you upload but grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display them for the purpose of operating the Service.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that listings will sell, that prices are the lowest available, or that delivery will be uninterrupted.
12. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to applicable law, we are not responsible for indirect loss, loss caused by inaccurate user-supplied information, or delays outside our reasonable control.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Where the law allows, disputes will be handled by the courts with jurisdiction over the operator's place of business.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
